Vernooy Kill falls is located in Kerhonkson on Upper Cherrytown Rd. the trail leading to the falls is about a 4 mile round trip. It has some elevation rises but it is not too difficult a hike. Most of the trail is under the tree canopy so you can stay cool in the hot summer weather. Though I do see people from time to time on the trail there is not a lot of hikers on the trail compared to some of the other waterfalls in the area. The falls are multi stepped and there is a foot bridge over the stream. I always go at first light and in the early mornings you can see the sun’s rays cutting through the early morning mist rising from the forest floor. Though Vernooy Kill is not a large fall it is a peaceful serine spot to enjoy a beautiful waterfall. I hope you enjoy the photos, and maybe one day I may see you there.
