It has been a very dry summer in the Catskill Mountains, the water table is extremely low. It is abundantly clear hiking all of the waterfall trails. I hiked the Astowing Falls trail this weekend and was shocked to see there was almost no water flowing over the falls barely a trace of water coming down. I then hiked the Peters Kill side from bottom to top and the same on that side. I took a few shots on the Peters Kill side I post them here I liked some of the textures that are in the rock that show when there is almost no water flowing. I am posting a few shots of Angel Falls I took about six weeks ago. You will see the difference in water levels. With fall coming soon I hope we get some rain, I can’t imagine the fall colors with no waterfalls to enhance them.
